This French Toast Bake is the perfect way to use up challah stale bread and turn it into something amazing. Not too sweet yet rich and delicious, this brunch or dessert will quickly become your new favorite!

Unsalted butter Eggs Half & half or heavy cream Vanilla extract Sea salt Challah Fruit of choice Granulated sugar Apricot jam

Ingredients

Coat the bottom and side of the baking dish with butter the night before.

Step 1

Whisk the half & half, eggs, vanilla, and salt in a bowl.

Step 2

Dip the challah slices in the egg mixture until coated completely and arrange them in the dish.

Step 3

Pour the remaining egg mixture over the challah slices, then cover with plastic and refrigerate.

Step 4

Take the dish out of the refrigerator and spoon the liquid carefully over the challah to baste it.

Step 5

Add sliced fruit and sprinkle the top with granulated sugar. Bake until golden brown.

Step 6

Challah French Toast Bake Tips:

Serve with jam, syrup, or powdered sugar!

Add some freshly whipped cream.
