Warm milk Saffron threads Dry yeast Sugar Butter Eggs All-purpose flour Almond paste Hot water Italian Pastry Cream Optional: Pearl sugar

Ingredients

Prepare and make the dough. Let it rise in an oiled bowl.

Step 1

Punch and shape the dough into a ball on a floured surface.

Step 2

Roll the dough into a rectangle shape in an even thickness.

Step 3

Place the almond cream filling on top of the dough and spread. 

Step 4

Roll the dough into a log shape and cut crosswise into 1-inch slices.

Step 5

Place the dough slice in the prepared baking pan and cover it with plastic wrap. Let it rest and rise until doubles in size.

Step 6

Bake the rolls until slightly golden brown and remove the pan from the oven.

Step 8

Tips for cutting the Saffron Sweet Rolls:

Use a very sharp knife

Use fishing string

Use nonflavored floss
