Prepare and pat the stakes with a paper towel.
Season the steaks on both sides with pepper and salt.
Sear the steaks until nicely browned and remove from skillet.
Sauté the garlic, crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, fresh basil, red wine, and red pepper flakes in the skillet.
Mix in the olives and capers. Add the seared steaks back and simmer.
Transfer to serving plates and adjust the seasoning and taste of the sauce.
