Ingredients

Place the eggs and sugar in the food processor and process until creamy. Then, add orange zest, liquor, and vanilla extract.

Step 1

Process the mixture until combined, and add the flour and baking powder. Pulse a few times.

Step 2

Add and pulse the butter cuts until combined. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate.

Step 3

Transfer the dough from a lightly floured surface, and divide it into four even sections.

Step 4

Roll and form each section into a long rope and cut them into sections around ½ to 1-inch wide.

Step 5

Form each section into small balls using your hands. Then, arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and cover them.

Step 6

Pour the oil into a heavy-bottomed pot set over medium-high heat. Let it reach a frying temperature and fry the balls.

Step 7

Stir the balls until puffed and golden brown, and use a slotted spoon to help the dough balls move in the oil.

Step 8

Remove the cooked dough balls and shake the excess oil back into the pan. Transfer them to the paper towel.

Step 9

Repeat the process of frying until all remaining ball doughs are cooked.

Step 10

Make and cook the honey mixture and transfer the fried dough ball into the mixing bowl. Pour the honey mixture on top.

Step 11

Toss and combine the struffoli and honey mixture until fully coated.

Step 12

Spray a drinking glass with non-stick cooking spray and place it at the center of the serving platter.

Step 13

Mound the glazed struffoli to form a wreath and allow it to set for 2-3 hours. Remove the glass and sprinkle the rainbow nonpareils.
