Thumbprint Heart Cookies

These Heart Thumbprint Cookies are the perfect Valentine's Day treat.

Let's get started!

These treats are made from a soft, buttery dough infused with vanilla and almond flavors. The charming heart-shaped indentations are filled with jam, making for the ideal sweet snack.

Cream the butter, sugar & salt until light and fluffy in a bowl.

Step 1

Slowly add the eggs one at a time to the mixer. Then, add the vanilla and almond extract.

Step 2

Sift the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl.  Then, transfer the dough to a bowl and cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate.

Step 3

Form and divide the dough, and roll each into a small ball. Place and arrange the balls on a prepared baking sheet.

Step 4

Press the cookie dough using your finger to form a small heart shape.

Step 5

Fill the heart shape with jam at the center of each cookie and bake until lightly golden at the edges. 

Step 6

Let them cool, and dust them with powdered sugar.
