On a heated skillet, add the olive oil until it shimmers. Then, add the garlic and Calabrian chili peppers and cook until golden brown.

Step 1

Add the tomato paste and salt to the skillet. Cook and stir until tomato paste is caramelized.

Step 2

Cook the pasta until al dente and reserve 2 cups of pasta cooking water and set aside. Drain the pasta.

Step 3

Add the pasta water to the skillet and whisk to combine the mixture until smooth. Simmer for about 1 minute. 

Step 4

Add the pasta to the skillet and toss until sauce coats the pasta completely. Then, remove pan from heat.

Step 5

Add the parmesan cheese and toss with the coated pasta to combine. Serve and garnish with parmesan cheese and basil.
