Ingredients For the Cake – All purpose Flour – Granulated sugar – Butter – Egg – Baking powder – Optional: crushed pistachios or sliced almonds for topping

1- make pistachio pastry cream (similiar to pistachio pudding) photo instructions in post

2- Sift together the dry ingredients (flour and baking powder) in a medium bowl. Add the sugar and combine.

3- add the beaten egg and incorporate. Add cold chunks of butter and mix until crumbly.

Place a part of the crumbly mixture into the cake pan, lightly pat down. Spread the prepared cream filling on top. Add remaining crumb mixture. Then, bake!
