You’re never too busy for an easy blackened cod meal!  This Easy Blackened Cod Recipe is an excellent option for a busy weeknight. And it's ready in just 20 minutes!

Paprika Garlic powder Onion powder Salt Black pepper Cayenne pepper Dried oregano Dried thyme

olive oil


Combine and mix all the blackening spices in a bowl and blend evenly.

Step 1

Pat the fish dry with a paper towel and add the oil.

Step 2

Then rub or brush each side of the fish with olive oil.

Step 3

Coat the sides of each fish fillet with the combined blackened seasoning and shake off the excess spices.

Step 4

Cook the coated fillets in the skillet until the rub turns black, then add the butter to the pan.

Step 5

Flip each fish fillet and cook until through and flaky.
