    Easy Italian Nachos Recipe (Sheet Pan)- "Nacho" average nachos! These sheet pan Italian style nachos are perfect for your next game day or easy weeknight meal. Simple to make and irresistible to eat. Wait until you dip that cheesy mozzarella chip into the easy homemade tomato dipping sauce. Yum!

    Italian Nachos Recipe

    These Italian nachos will become a new favorite. I call this the easiest meal for a busy night, or game day fun. You can add almost any of your favorite foods to a pan of chips and have a meal that needs no utensils! I call that a WIN! I use two kinds of cheese, mozzarella and parmigiano, to give it a nice balance of mild and slightly more flavorful cheese.

    Try this Italian version for a fun twist on a Mexican restaurant favorite! The best part- everyone can create their own!

    When my son was learning to talk, he said "Machos" for the word nacho. It's always stuck in our family, and no matter what style of nachos we make, they are always Macho Nachos! Packed with big flavors and lots of Amore (love)! This delicious Italian nachos recipe makes a stress-free fun family dinner or party appetizer.

    Simple Ingredients

    A recipe with minimal hands-on cooking is a quick meal or appetizer winner! For this dish, you’ll spend most of your time chopping ingredients.

    Nachos

    • Shredded mozzarella cheese- Read about Different Types of Mozzarella.
    • Grated parmigiano cheese
    • Cherry tomatoes, sliced or canned diced tomatoes
    • Sliced black olives
    • Whole green olives
    • Sliced pepperoncini peppers
    • Nacho or tortilla chips
    • Fresh basil, for topping

    Tomato Dipping Sauce (Homemade Marinara Sauce)

    • Crushed tomatoes
    • Crushed garlic
    • Dried onion
    • Dried oregano
    • Dried basil
    • Pinch of salt

    Alternatively, you can use your favorite homemade spaghetti sauce.

    Easy Italian Style Nachos Recipe

    Packed with cheese, Italian pepperoncini peppers, black olives, and tomatoes, you won’t miss traditional nachos after having these.

    The secret to these is the easy tomato dipping sauce. You heat it in the microwave! Yes, it does the trick for giving these nachos a sweet and delicious Italian flavor.

    How to Make Italian Nachos

    1. Make the tomato sauce. Place all the tomato sauce ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl. Mix to combine. place a paper towel or microwave-safe lid loosely over the top and microwave on medium-high for 3-4 minutes. Stir and repeat for another 3-4 minutes until the sauce is thickened and hot. Place in a serving bowl and use as a dip for the nachos.
    2. Preheat the broiler to medium-high heat. On a sheet pan, layer chips in a single layer. Layer mozzarella cheese, sliced tomatoes, parmigiano cheese, and black olives.
    3. Place under broiler for 5 minutes until cheese is melted and slightly browned. Garnish with fresh green olives and peppers. Mangia! (Eat)

    What Cheese for Italian Nachos

    I use freshly grated mozzarella cheese and parmigiano (parmesan cheese) for a great Italian flavor combination. Choose a cheese combination that has the desired flavor and melts well. A Monterey Jack cheese will have a melty texture. You can combine your favorite melting and give cheese, such as cheddar or fontina.

    Topping Ideas for Italian Nachos

    The possibilities for nacho toppings are endless. This recipe keeps it very simple and vegetarian. Here are some additional topping ideas:

    • Shredded chicken or beef
    • Ham
    • Burrata cheese
    • Roasted bell peppers
    • Red pepper or other bell pepper variety
    • Banana peppers
    • Pepperoni
    • Italian Vinegar peppers - serve on the side of the Italian nachos
    • Green onion
    • Homemade Alfredo sauce or Bechamel
    • Italian Sausage or Ground Beef - add cooked sausage on top of the cheese just before heating in the oven.
    • Roma tomatoes
    • Sour Cream
    • Italian seasoning- for sprinkling on top
    • Fresh parsley for serving after nachos are baked

    Try making homemade chips of different varieties.

    • Wonton wrappers to make homemade pasta chips
    • Crostini bread instead of the traditional nachos chips

    • Homemade tortilla chips using corn tortillas

    How to Make Pasta Chips

    If you want to make homemade pasta chips- here is an easy method:

    1. Slice each wrapper in half diagonally and lay flat on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
    2. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
    3. Lightly spray the wontons with cooking spray, then bake for about 5 minutes — flipping halfway — until crisp and lightly browned.

    How to Serve Italian Nachos- Sheet Pan Recipe

    You can serve these on a sheet pan or put them on a pretty platter. Either way, they will be a fast favorite appetizer for any game day or gathering with friends.
